A German application is often decided before the translation is even ordered: many Cameroonian documents need no translation at all, because they were issued in English. We tell you that first, and only then do we translate — with our partner translator for German, named before the work starts.

What Germany asks for, and from whom
The door into most German universities is called uni-assist. It wants your certificates in their original language with a translation into German or English — and it wants none at all if the document is already issued in one of those two. For a GCE holder, that settles the question before it is asked.
When a translation is needed, uni-assist wants it from someone authorised to translate under oath or admissible in court. That is not us, and we will not pretend otherwise. We say so before starting and point you elsewhere: losing a sale is better than costing you an admission.
For English, our own translator translates and signs. For every other language the translation is made and certified by a partner translator for that language; we tell you who before we start.
The original stays with you; the translation travels.
What the source says
uni-assist, which processes applications for most German universities, asks for certificates in their original language with a translation into German or English — and no translation at all if your country already issues the document in German or English.
Before you order
uni-assist only accepts translations from a person or institution authorised to translate under oath or admissible in court, or from a department of the institution that issued the qualification. Frequently asked questions
My GCE is in English — do I need a German translation?
Not for uni-assist: it accepts certificates issued in English without a translation. Check its country page, then the instruction of the university itself — that is the one that decides.
What if my transcripts are in French?
A translation into German or English is then required, from a translator authorised to translate under oath or admissible in court. Tell us which body will receive it: if our format does not qualify, we point you elsewhere rather than sell you a document that will be set aside.
Do I need an APS certificate, as in China or India?
No. The Akademische Prüfstelle does not cover Cameroon: uni-assist lists it for China, Vietnam and India. A Cameroonian file is assessed directly by the university or by uni-assist.
Who translates into German at Verbatim?
